Season the chicken wings with garlic paste, onion powder, white pepper and salt to taste.
Drizzle some vegetable oil over the chicken and toss to combine ensuring the chicken is fully coated with the seasoning.
Place a pan on medium heat and drizzle some more vegetable oil. Allow to heat up slightly.
Place the chicken pieces into the pan, brown on one side for 2-3 minutes, flip to the other side and allow to brown another 3 minutes. Take it out of the pan, place on a plate and set aside.
In the same pan, add the soy sauce, brown sugar, ketchup, scotch bonnet peppers and water and leave to simmer for 1 mouth.
Then add the browned chicken pieces, and coat each piece generously with the sauce.
Cover the pan and allow to cook for 7-8 minutes or until a dark, sticky sauce is formed and has married well with the chicken.
Take off the heat and serve with yam or plantain fries.
